In romantic fiction, the name Lori Foster (www.lorifoster.com) is synonymous with intimacy. Although known for her ultra-sensual love stories, this New York Times bestselling author's greatest strength is creating lovable characters. The sexual tension and love scenes are so hot because the reader cares deeply about the hero and heroine.
Her stories are filled with every day heroes. Heroes who place family above all else. It's no wonder that readers identify with the heroines who don't flinch from the obstacles they face. As for the men…well, let's face it. If more men were like Lori Foster heroes, the world would be a much better place.
This author writes about a lot of characters who interconnect with other stories, often crossing publishing houses. It's not required to read the books in a specific order, but if you prefer to do it that way, visit Lori's website to keep track. Whether she writes for Harlequin, Kensington, Berkeley or St. Martin's Press, her loyal readers know they're in for a sensational story.

Scandalized
By
Harlequin Temptation, 1997
He hears his biological clock ticking. She doesn't want emotional commitments. They made a very simple agreement but nothing goes as planned. The reversal of traditional goals first captured my attention, but the characters are the reasons this book is on my keeper shelf.

"Tangled Dreams" novella
By Originally published in the Charmed Anthology, Berkley 1999
Reissued in The Winston Brothers Anthology, Berkley, 2001
When I first read this novella, I told everyone to go buy a copy because I wasn't sharing mine! Fast-paced plot, memorable characters and some unexpected twists, this paranormal story is laugh-out-loud funny and very, very sexy. I won't spoil the surprises for you – just trust me and get your own copy.

Too Much Temptation
By Kensington Brava, 2002
This is a wonderfully sensual story, but what really got me was the loyalty and unconditional love between Noah and Grace. The way they protected and backed up each other, you knew they found the love of their lives in their best friend. This book is the perfect example of what erotic romances are supposed to be.

Lori's creates amazing hero just like (www.janeporter.com). Both of these women understand what women want in a man and what readers are looking for in a hero. If you can't get enough of the alpha males, keep an eye out for books from Lori and Jane.
Family dynamics play a big part in Lori Foster's stories, very much like (see feature on Barbara on this site -- simply scroll or check the archives). While Barbara's books center on how the character fits in a family, Lori's stories explore the relationships between siblings – mostly brothers – and the depths of family loyalty.
The sensuality level in Lori Foster's books is fierce yet draws deep on emotions and intimacy. Another author who understands how to blend emotions and eroticism is (www.janelledenison.com). It's no surprise that both of these authors have written for Harlequin Temptation and Kensington Brava. If you're a fan of sexy romances, you should read the complete works from both of these authors.

writes contemporary romances that sparkle with energy. Her Loveswepts, Silhouette Desires and single-title books are sexy, fun and insightful.
Boswell's heroes may range from playboys to bad boys, but they protect family at all cost. The heroines are sassy and spirited good girls who want to be special instead of forgotten.
Family relationships play a big part in Barbara Boswell stories. The characters wrestle with everything from estrangement to feeling lost in a blended family. They might meet while investigating an adoption scam or looking for a marriage of convenience to provide care for their orphaned nieces and nephews.
This author often writes an informal mini-series per family and many secondary characters are given a book of their own. Readers will have to keep a vigilant eye out, but it's worth the effort if it means lingering in Barbara Boswell's world a little longer.

By
Loveswept #117

The story starts with the unmarried daughter of a presidential candidate staring at her positive pregnancy test. A pregnancy resulted from a passionate one-night stand with her longtime adversary. How's that for conflict? But she doesn't know that the hero has been patiently waiting for her to notice him. This sensual romance is about two people who yearn for a life where family takes center stage. It has that sigh and smile ending that will tempt you to start the book all over again.

The Rule Breaker
By
Silhouette Desire #558

He's the black sheep of his family and the publishing world who finds the uptight librarian more than a challenge. He wants to bed her. She wants a courtship. Guess who wins? This was the first Barbara Boswell book I read and it remains one of my favorites for its snappy, fun tone and fierce sexual tension.

While Barbara Boswell favors ranches and the political arena, she frequently draws on her nursing background and uses hospital settings in her romance books. If you're looking for more romances featuring characters in the medical profession, visit the Medical Romance Authors website.
Barbara Boswell's bad boy/good girl stories are phenomenal. Harlequin Blaze and Temptation author Joanne Rock also understands the allure of this kind of hero. If you like bad boys, you'll love Joanne Rock stories.
Sensuality is an important ingredient in Barbara Boswell's books. Her heroines are often virginal and experience a sexual awakening much like the heroines found in Lynne Graham's stories.

has written over 100 books and multiple New York Times bestsellers. Whether it is written under the Jayne Ann Krentz, or name, each book is guaranteed to satisfy the most hopeful of romantics.
What can you expect in a JAK novel? Her heroes can be uncivilized but follow personal codes of honor. A Jayne Ann Krentz heroine is often called quirky, but in fact they are women who are independent, intelligent and act with integrity. They are also the kind of woman the average man is afraid to tame.
Jayne Ann Krentz books are filled with sexual tension that zing off the page, clever mysteries and moments of breathless suspense. The occasional dash of the paranormal offers another dimension and promotes the idea of destined lovers.

Everyone is determined to save the heroine from yet another disaster, but no one realizes she can take care of herself. While most transformation stories focus on the 'before' and 'during', Krentz superbly shows the shift of relationship dynamics after the heroine's personal revolution. |

Jayne Ann Krentz's books are often set in the Seattle, Washington area. Debbie Macomber sets many of her books in this state, but with a small-town feel. Both authors use settings with great effect. You can't imagine the story or the characters belonging anywhere else.
Silhouette Desires author Jennifer Greene creates characters with similar core values as those of Jayne Ann Krentz's. Read one of her books and you won't be disappointed.
